Your primary Lightkeeper learns the breakfast preferences, the pace of the morning and the help that’s welcome. You know the named backup, too. If coverage changes, you hear about it before the visit.

Sometimes the right starting point is help for a few hours, a few days a week. Here’s how that budget compares with residential care in the Tampa area.
Example: 12 hours of care a week
Three four-hour visits with a familiar Lightkeeper. An RN-guided plan and same-day family updates, alongside help with meals, personal care or company.
Tampa-area median · 2025
A private one-bedroom in a residential community. Housing, meals and a different level of ongoing support.
Moving to a communityTampa-area median · 2025
A private room in a nursing facility for people who need a higher level of care and clinical support.
Residential nursing careThese are different amounts and types of support. The home-care example covers 12 hours a week, not round-the-clock care, and excludes housing and living expenses. Calculated as $36 × 12 hours × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months. More hours increase the cost. Residential figures are medians, not quotes, from CareScout’s 2025 Cost of Care Survey, Tampa Metropolitan Area. Four-hour visits are a draft assumption; final minimums, any premiums and availability will be confirmed.

Meet the person who will help with the agreed routines and know the named backup. Tonight’s Light keeps authorized family informed after each visit.
Everyday, nonmedical support: bathing, dressing, meals, light housekeeping, companionship and reminders. An RN, your Head Keeper, assesses needs and writes the care plan. Lightkeepers do not replace skilled nursing, medical treatment or emergency care.
Our launch standard is an RN assessment within 24 hours and a care start within 24–48 hours, when the assessment, location and staffing allow. We’ll confirm a realistic start date for your family. Lightkeeper is currently awaiting licensure; this private draft does not book care.
Our model pairs your family with a primary Lightkeeper and a named backup. Matching considers care needs, routines, language and location. If coverage needs to change, the plan is to tell you who is coming before the visit.
Tonight’s Light is our same-day update for authorized family members, built from the visit checklist. It explains what was completed and any changes to flag. The Watch, our scheduling and on-call team, will be the contact for questions between visits.
The Lightkeeper base rate is $36/hour. For example, three four-hour visits a week work out to $432/week, or an average of $1,872/month. The final schedule, minimum visit length and any premiums will be confirmed in writing before care starts.
Start with what they want to keep doing, and ask what would make that easier. Company at lunch or a hand with laundry may feel more comfortable than a broad conversation about needing care. They should be involved in choosing the help and the person who provides it.
